Chairman's Pre-Season Message 2025

A PRE-SEASON MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN PHIL HAMMOND
“It is my pleasure to welcome members new and old to Stalybridge Cricket Club for the 2025 season.
I hope that everyone has had a good winter and arrives in good health.
For anyone that hasn't visited the Club since the end of last season you might find that things look a little different - you will also be using the new entrance!!
We have completed the sale of the land and we hope to invest that money into improving our facilities in the coming years.
I will provide more detailed plans soon but we are working on a number of major projects at the moment including new changing rooms, redevelopment of the clubhouse, an outside seating area, and a new drainage system.
On the cricket front we are very much looking forward to starting our first season in the GMCL. This will provide us with a fresh challenge and an opportunity to take the Club forward. We are all energised and excited going into the new season. We will have the opportunity to play at some new grounds and lock horns with some of our Tameside neighbours.
We enjoyed our time in the Derbyshire and Cheshire League and we remain friends and wish them well for the coming season.
We are grateful to the DCCL for continuing to support our 3rd team and ladies team in 2025.
We are excited to introduce a new incentive scheme for the 2025 season. We hope that the scheme will have a number benefits and we wish all the players the very best of luck.
We will continue to foster greater relations with the local community and push hard to provide the best possible facilities and opportunities for our junior players.
There is still much work to do to prepare for the season and we hope to see as many of you as possible at the club helping out.
Please look out for a full calendar of social activities this year starting in pre season”
